WA 75 MDI Boys 57
The MDI Boy's Basketball Team knew that to defeat Washington Academy, they were going to have to limit Gage Feeney and Austin Seavey. They did so in the first quarter, but the two Raiders accounted for 59 points, and Washington Academy defeated MDI Friday night, January 16th by the score of 75-57.
In the 1st Quarter, MDI led 14-13. Riley Swanson had 8 points including 2 3-pointers for MDI. Gus Reeves, Drew Rich and Aaron Snurkowski all had 2 points. For WA Seavey had 6 points, Feeney had 4 points and Colin Pineo had 3 points.
In the 2nd Quarter, WA took a 29-24 lead in the half. Feeney had 8 points and Seavey had 6 points for the Raiders. Russell Kropff had 4 points for MDI while Graham Good had 2 points as did Deven Parlatore.
In the 3rd Quarter WA extended their lead to 52-44.Feeney and Seavey each had 8 points and Cameron Varney had 5 points including a 3-pointer for Washington Academy. MDI received 4 points each from Snurkowski, Swanson and Parlatore while Reeves, Good and James O'Donnell each scored a basket
In the 4th Quarter Feeney poured in 13 more points while Seavey had 6 for the Raiders. Snurkowski had 7 points including a 3-pointer and Kropff added 4 for MDI.
MDI was led by Aaron Snurkowski with 15 points, while Riley Swanson had 12 points.The Trojans were 13-18 from the free throw line.
Gage Feeney had a game high 33 points while Austin Seavey had 2 points for Washington Academy. The Raiders were 14-22 from the free throw line.
MDI is now 4-8 and plays at Hermon on Monday, January 19th at 7 PM. Washington Academy is 10-3 and plays at Lee Academy on Monday January 19th at 2:30 PM.
