Ellsworth 40 Orono 38

The Ellsworth Eagles shocked Orono 40-38 at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth on Wednesday, January 27th, as Bryce Harmon dished the ball to Bruce St. Peter who banked it off the glass with no time left. St. Peter had taken a charge, and the Eagles went the length of the court with 8 seconds left.

Orono jumped out to a 9-8 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Keenan Collett had 3 points for Orono while Jake Koffman, Nate DeSisto and Imao Worldring each had 2 points. For Ellsworth Bruce St. Peter had 6 points and Bryce Harmon had 2 points.

Orono increased their lead to 23-17 at the end of the 1st Half. Collett had 8 points for Orono and Worldring had 5 points including a 3-pointer. Jackson Coutts had 1 point for Orono. For Ellsworth, St. Peter had 4 points, Kyle Golding had a 3-pointer and Nick Bagley had 2 points.

Orono's lead was as much as 13 points in the 3rd Quarter, and the Red Riots led the Eagles 36-26 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. DeSisto had 4 points, Connor Robertson had a 3-pointer, and Coutts and Worldring each had 2 points. For Ellsworth Harmon had 6 points including a 3-pointer and St. Peter had 3 points.

In the 4th Quarter, Ellsworth outscored Orono 14-2. St. Peter had 6 points including the game winner. Bagley had a 3-pointer, Harmon had 3 points and Cooper Henderson had 2 points. Worldring had the lone 2 points for Orono.

Ellsworth was led by Bruce St. Peter with 19 points and Bryce Harmon had 11 points. Ellsworth was 5-7 from the free throw line.

Orono was led by Keenan Collett with 13 points and Imao Worldring with 11 points. Orono was 4-9 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 11-4. The Eagles have 3 games remaining, on Saturday, January 30th at the Cross Insurance Center at 7 PM, on Tuesday, February 2nd at 7 PM against George Steven's Academy and then on Thursday, February 4th at home against MDI.
