Ellsworth's only restaurant with a view of the eagles on the Union River. the Union River Lobster Pot was sold on Monday, April 6th. Brian and Jane Langley sold the restaurant and their adjoining property to Diwas Thapa of Breakwater Hospitality.

According to the press release, Diwas Thapa is an accomplished hospitality entrepreneur with deep roots in the Mount Desert Island community. Originally from Nepal, Diwas earned a B.S. in Aerospace and Ocean Engineering from Virginia Tech and worked in the engineering field for five years before discovering his passion for hospitality during a visit to Acadia National Park. He relocated to Bar Harbor and has since become a respected business leader in the region.

As the owner and operator of Breakwater Hospitality, Diwas oversees an impressive portfolio of properties and restaurants throughout Bar Harbor, including Royal Indian Restaurant, 2 Cats Restaurant, Jeannie's Great Maine Breakfast,  Everyday Joe's, and several vacation rental properties and motels. He is known for his commitment to quality, customer service, and community engagement. Diwas currently serves on the Board of Directors for Healthy Acadia, demonstrating his dedication to giving back to the community that has supported his success.

Diwas brings strong business acumen, a passion for the hospitality industry, and a genuine appreciation for the Mount Desert Island (and now Ellsworth) area.
