Ellsworth’s Bridge Hill Road to Remain Closed Indefinitely
After the water main break on the Bridge Hill Road in Ellsworth on August 11th, the road has remained closed and will remain closed indefinitely.
The update was quietly posted to the City's website on Saturday, August 15th. In it the City explained that the water main break, although repaired, has left the affected section of Bridge Hill unsafe for traffic.
They further explained that the City of Ellsworth is coordinating with the Maine Department of Transportation on the roadway repairs and the next steps needed to safely reopen Bridge Hill. Until then, the road will remain closed.
There is no timetable for the repair and reopening.
We will share information as soon as the City of Ellsworth releases it to the public. In the meantime, the City asks for patience and respect for City employees and partners working to resolve this situation.
