Boil Water Order for Bridge Hill Area in Ellsworth is Lifted [UPDATED]
2 p.m. Update - August 13th - At 1: 55 pm, the Ellsworth Water Department has lifted the Boil Water Order for the affected areas after the Bridge Hill Water Main break.
Motorists who normally travel on the Bridge Hill Road in Ellsworth are encouraged to use the Christian Ridge Road as an alternate route and avoid Bridge Hill if possible on Wednesday August 12th and for the next few days, as the Ellsworth Water Department is dealing with a water main break, with repairs expected to several days or longer to complete.
If you must travel in the area of the water main break, please go slowly and be mindful of workers in the road, while they fix the problem.
Because of the water main break, a boil water order has been issued for the Bridge Hill Road area in Ellsworth.
The order applies to Ellsworth Water Department customers on:
- Grant Street
- Liberty Street
- Chapel Street
- Willow Street
- Youngs Avenue
- Bucksport Road — from Court Street to Chapel Street
- Laurel Street
- Upper South Street
- Maple Street
Customers in the affected area should boil all water for at least five minutes before:
- Drinking
- Making ice
- Washing or preparing food
- Brushing teeth
- Any other activity involving consumption of water
The Boil Water Order will remain in effect until further notice.
