MMA Football Joins New Conference In 2017

Maine Maritime Academy football is leaving the New England Football Conference and will join the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference(NEWMAC).

The NEWMAC will sponsor football for the first time in '17.

Also joining Maine Maritime Academy in the move is MIT and U.S. Coast Guard Academy from the NEFC.

Norwich University leaves the ECFC to join the new conference.

Springfield College, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and WPI will also leave their conferences to join the NEWMAC.

The NEWMAC introduction of football becomes the 20th sports offered.

Babson, Clark, Coast Guard, Emerson, MIT, Mount Holyoke, Smith, Springfield, Wellesley, WPI are schools that make up the NEWMAC.
