
Jump for Joy – Red Sox Comeback to Beat Tampa Bay 7-6 for 12th Straight Win
The Boston Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays 7-6 on Saturday, for their 12th straight win, powered by Wilyer Abreu's 2 home runs.
Boston recorded their 1st comeback win of the season when trailing by 3 or more runs. Before Saturday's game they were 0-31. They were trailing 6-3 before scoring 4 runs in the 7th inning.
Wilyer Abreu was 2-3 with the pair of home runs and drove in 3 runs. He hit 2 home runs on Friday. He's the 1st Red Sox player to record back-to-back multi-home run games since Mookie Betts did it in 2016. He's just the 2nd Red Sox player to do so at Fenway, joining George Scott who did it in September 1971.
Jamai Jones who started in left filed hit a 2-run homer in the bottom of the 1st inning to tie the game at 2-2.
Andruw Monasterio was 2-3 with a pair of doubles.
Patrick Sandoval started on the mound and pitched 5.0 innings allowing 9 hits and 5 runs, striking out 5 and waked 1.
Ryan Watson earned the win, and is 1-0. Aroldis Chapman earned his 21st save.

Boston has won 17 of their last 19 games since June 25th and are 20-5 over their last 25 games since June 19.

Boston is now 49-48 and above .500 for the 1st time since Opening Day on March 26th.
