Red Sox Homer Twice and Beat Angels 8-1 Saturday Night [VIDEO]

Backed by a pair of homers, and fueled by disappointment in not being selected to the All-Star Team,  Sonny Gray pitched 6.0 innings allowing just 4 hits and 1 run, as the Boston Red Sox beat the Angels 8-1 Saturday night.

Gray, undoubtedly Boston's best pitcher this year, improved to 10-1 and reduced his ERA to 2.61. Gray is tied for 2nd in all of baseball with 10 wins, and 9th with a 2.61 earned run average.

Boston's Aroldis Chapman and Ranger Suarez were selected to the AL All-Star Team. The All-Star Game will take place in Philadelphia on Tuesday, July 14th.

Willson Contreras, who is appealing his 7-game suspension hit his 19th home run of the season, a 3-run shot in the 1st inning.

Romy Gonzalez hit a 2-run homer, his 1st of the season, in the 5th inning.

Anthony Siegler, Wilyer Abreu and Ceddanne Rafaela each had a double.

Boston (39-48) and the Angels (36-54) will play the final game of the 3-game series on Sunday night, July 5th with the pregame starting at 8:30 on WDEA AM 1370.
