Red Sox Beat White Sox 2-1 Thursday for 6th Straight Win [VIDEO]

The Boston Red Sox beat the Chicago White Sox 2-1 on Thursday for their 6th straight win, and swept the series in Chicago. This is Boston's longest winning streak this season!

Caleb Durbin hit a 2-run homer, his 9th of the season in the 4th inning, to propel Boston to the win.

Boston managed only 4 hits in the game.

Patrick Sandoval making his 1st start for the Red Sox, pitched 4.1 innings allowing 5 hits and 1 run. He struck out 5 and walked 1. It was the 1st time he pitched in the majors in 749 days, after having Tommy John surgery.

Aroldis Chapman pitched the 9th, earning his 19th save of the season.

Boston was without Willson Contreras. He began serving his suspension, which was reduced to 5 games from the original 7 game punishment.

Boston placed Ranger Suarez on the 15-day injured list and he will miss the All-Star game.

Boston is now 43-48. and are currently just 2 1/2 games out of the 3rd wild card spot.
