The Boston Red Sox beat the New York Mets on Sunday, July 12th, winning 3-2 in 10 innings for their 9th win in-a-row.

Boston completed its second 9-0 trip in franchise history after one from 1977. The Red Sox are on their longest winning streak since taking 10 in-a-row from July 4 to 13 last year. They have won 14 of their last 16 games  and 17 of their last 2 games.

Boston just had 2 hits thru 8 innings. They scored 2 runs in the 9th to tie the game and won it in 10 innings.

Payton Tolle pitched 3.2 innings, and allowed 3 hits and 1 run, striking out 7 and walking 1. He was pulled early to manage his innings. Brayan Ballo recalled from Worcester pitched 4.1 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 run. He struck out 5 . Aroldis Chapman pitched the 9th inning to earn the win. Garrett Whitlock pitched the 10th for his 2nd save of the season.

Andruw Monasterio had a double and drove in a run. Jarren Duran drove in a run with a single. Anthony Seigler drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.

Boston is off now for the All-Star break until Friday July 17th. They will play a doubleheader at home against the Tampa Bay Rays with pregames starting at 12:35 and 6:10 p.m. on WDEA AM 1370
