MDI Girls Remain Perfect 73-55

The MDI Girl's Basketball Team remained perfect Friday night, January 16th with a 73-55 victory over Hermon at Bernard Parady Gymnasium.

MDI led 14-8 at the end of the 1st Quarter, and 29-25 at the half. The Trojans then exploded for 30 points in the 3rd Quarter to take a 59-38 lead, before winning 73-55.

MDI was led by Kelsey Shaw who had a game high 29 points including a 3-pointer. Sierra Tapley had 21 points with a 3-pointer and Sarah Phelps had 11 points with a 3-pointer. Sara Norberg added a 3-pointer for the Trojans. MDI was 17-22 from the free throw line.

Hermon was led by Shelby Caron with 18 points and Allessa Oakes had 11 points. Katie Corey had 2 3-pointers, and Claire Peterson, Allessa Oakes, Bryanne Crouse and Sierra Snow all had 1 3-pointer. Hermon was 7-14 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 12-0 on the season, and are off until next weekend, when they play host to Caribou on Friday, January 23rd at 6 PM and then Presque Isle on Saturday, January 24th at 1 PM. Both of those games will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.

Hermon is now 4-9 and plays host to Central on Tuesday, January 20th at 7 PM and then at Foxcroft Academy on Friday, January 23rd at 7 PM.
