MDI Boys Headed To Tourney ’16
The MDI Boy's Basketball Team punched their ticket to Bangor and Tourney 2016 with a 60-38 victory over Hermon in a Class B North Prelim Game at Bernard Parady Gymnasium. The Trojans, the #5 seed will play Orono the #4 seed on Saturday, February 12th at 1:30 PM in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.
The Trojans jumped out to a 19-16 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Aaron Snurkowski had 7 points including a 3-pointer, Graham Good had 6 points, Riley Swanson had a 3-pointer, Drew Rich had 2 points and Devin Parlatore had a point for the Trojans. For Hermon, Keenan Marseille had 5 points as did Isaiah Marseille. Mat Allen, Tyler Beaton, and Garrett Trask each had 2 points.
In the 2nd Quarter, MDI outscored Hermon 9-6 to take a 28-22 lead. Snurkowski had another 3-pointer, and Swanson, Russell Kropff and Parlatore each had 2 points for MDI. For Hermon, Keenan Marseille, Beaton and Jordan Bishop each had 2 points.
MDI extended their lead in the 3rd Quarter, outscoring Hermon 13-7 to take a 41-29 lead at the end of the 3rd Quarter. For MDI Swanson had 5 points including a 3-pointer, Good had 4 points and Rich and Isaiah Keene each had 2 points. For the Hawks, Beaton had 4 points and Isaiah Marseille had 3 points.
In the 4th Quarter, MDI outscored Hermon 19-9. For the Trojans Andrew Phelps had 4 points, Swanson had another 3-pointer, Mac Shea, Gus Reeves, Graham Good, Aaron Snurkowski and Isaiah Keene each had 2 points and Devin Parlatore had 1 point. For Hermon, Keenan Marseille had 6 points including a 3-pointer, Garrett Trask had 2 points and Colby Wittmer had 1 point.
For MDI Riley Swanson had 14 points and Graham Good and Aaron Snurkowski each had 12 points. The Trojans were 13-20 from the free throw line.
Hermon was led by Keenan Marseille with 13 points and Tyler Beaton and Isaiah Marseille each had 8 points. The Hawks were 7-12 from the free throw line.
MDI is now 15-4 and will play the #4 seed Orono Red Riots in the Class B North Quarterfinals on Saturday, February 12th at 1:30 in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.
Hermon's season comes to a close, with the loss, and the Hawks end up 9-10
