MDI 45 Hermon 44 [BOX SCORE]

The MDI Boy's Basketball Team rebounded from their first loss of the season, on Thursday night at Washington Academy, and came from behind in the 4th Quarter, to beat Hermon 45-44 in their 1st home game of the season.

MDI led at the end of the 1st Quarter 9-8. Russell Kropff scored 5 of MDI's points, while Keenan Marseille, Tyler Beaton, Isaiah Marseille and Colby Wittmer each had 2 points for Hermon.

MDI led 25-19 at the end of the 1st half. Gus Reeves coming off the bench, scored 6 points for MDI, while Kropff had 5 more points. Aaron Snurkowski hit a 3-pointer for MDI. For Hermon, Tyler Beaton went 4-4 from the free throw line, and Matt Allen had a 3-pointer.

In the 3rd Quarter, Hermon outscored MDI 16-8, as the Trojans went only 8-15 from the free throw line. For Hermon, Keenan Marseille and Tyler Beaton each had 7 points, including a 3-pointer. For MDI Reiley Swanson had a 3-pointer. At the end of the 3rd Quarter, Hermon led 35-33.

In the 4th Quarter, Colby Lee scored his first varsity points, and what big ones they were, as he saw a lane and drove to the basket, to give MDI a 38-37 lead with 4:52 remaining.  Russell Kropff scored and was fouled, and he converted his free throw, and MDI led 41-37 with 4:12 left. With 39 seconds remaining, Snurkowski hit 2 free throws, and MDI led 43-37. Tyler Beaton hit a 2 pointer for Hermon, and Bishop scored, and with 12.6 seconds remaining MDI was up 43-41. MDI's Riley Swanson was fouled, and went 2-2 from the free throw line with 11.2 seconds left, to put MDI up 45-41. Keenan Marseille drained a 3-pointer for Hermon and MDI was able to run out the remaining time, to come away with the 45-44 victory.

MDI was led by Russell Kropff with 16 points including a 3-pointer in the 4th Quarter. Swanson had 7 points including a 3-pointer. MDI was 14-21 from the free throw line.

Hermon was led by Keenan Marseille with 16 points and Tyler Beaton had 15 points. Hermon was 4-5 from the free throw line.

MDI now 2-1, plays John Bapst on Wednesday, December 16th at 7 PM at the Cross Insurance Center. Hermon, now 1-2, plays host to Foxcroft Academy on Wednesday December 16th at 7 PM.
