Ellsworth High School alumni, Jordan Carter, now in his second year at Husson University was one of five Eagles named to the North Atlantic Conference Baseball 1st Team. Husson finished the regular season with a 23-17 overall record, and 18-6 in conference. They play Colby Sawyer, Friday May 3 in the NAC playoffs.

Carter finished the regular season with a .290 batting average, with 7 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run and 11 RBI's. He was 2-5 stealing.

Husson senior outfielder Shawn Smith was honored as the North Atlantic ConferenceBaseball Player of the Year in a vote by the conference coaches, highlighting the league's announcement of its 2013 All-Conference Team.

Smith led the conference with a .422 batting average and a .681 slugging percentage while his .484 on base percentage ranked third best among his peers. Smith was the league's most prolific power hitter as well, smacking four home runs and driving in 41 runs while collecting 92 total bases, all of which topped the conference.

Husson teammates Jordan Carter, J.T. Whitten and Pat Thibodeau all joined Smith as All-Conference First Team honorees.

Whitten's stand out first season garnered him a share of the league's Rookie of the Year honor, alongside University of Maine at Farmington's Ben Keene. Whitten ranked in the top-ten in home runs, RBI and batting average. Keene batted .403 in 26 games for the Beavers, going 17-for-34 down the stretch to earn the league's Rookie of the Week honor in each of the last two weeks.

Kevin Keith was named the league's top pitcher, capping a season in which he led the conference in wins (8), shutouts (4) and strikeouts (57), while posting a sparkling 0.95 ERA.

A quartet of Spartans earned first team accolades, as Castleton's Adam Greenlese, Connor Hoagland, Matt McNamee and Ryan Zielinski were all honored.

Jeff Richardson, of Thomas, rounded out the first team honorees.

Castleton head coach Ted Shipley was selected as Coach of the Year after leading Castleton to a 22-2 league mark and top seed in the upcoming conference tournament. Shipley reached milestone win number 300 while at Castleton this season, earning his fifth NAC Coach of the Year award.

Lyndon was honored with the Team Sportsmanship Award.

All-conference selections are determined by a vote of the conference coaches. Additional players/positions are honored due to ties in voting.
