The Trenton Acadians staked the Capital Area-Barber Senior Legion baseball teams 4 runs in the 1st inning and then scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning themselves, en route to a 7-5 win.

Trenton outhit Capital Area 10 to 5, but committed 7 errors in the game as all the runs that Capital Area scored were unearned.

Trent Goss picked up the win for the Acadians on the mound. He pitched a complete game, allowing 5 hits and 5 runs, all unearned. He struck out 12 and walked just 1.

Goss helped himself at the plate with a pair of singles, going 2-3, and drove in 3 runs.

Dawson Curtis was 2-3 with a pair of singles and drove in a pair of runs. Brayden Sekulich was 2-3 and drove in a run. Luke Horne had a pair of hits including a double and Ryan Winchester had a pair of singles.

Carter Nelson was 2-3 for Capital Area with a  homer and drove in 4 runs. Layden Harbaugh, Will Watson, and Tyler Barber each had a single.

Tyler Barber started on the mound for Capital Area and pitched 3.2 innings allowing 6 hits and 6 runs, although just 1 was earned. He struck out 4 and walked 2. Dylan Maguire pitched 1.1 innings allowing 3 hits and 1 run, striking out 2 and waking 1. Alex Spaulding pitched the 6th inning allowing a hit and striking out 2.

Capital Area-Barber is now 4-7. They will host Capital Area-Shuman in Augusta on Wednesday, July 15th at 5:30 p.m.

The Trenton Acadians are now 15-2. They will play the Oxford Hills Legion Team on Wednesday, July 15th in Augusta at 5:30 p.m.
