Gary Saunders, the City of Ellsworth Interim Fire Chief issued the following statement , regarding the passing of Ellsworth's Deputy Fire Chief Robert "Bobby" Dorr who passed away early morning, Wednesday May 5th, 2021.

"Bobby Joined the Ellsworth Fire Department as a Paid – On- Call firefighter in August of 2009, and was hired as a career firefighter in October of 2010. Bobby quickly rose through the ranks serving as Lieutenant, Captain and most recently appointed Deputy Chief of the Ellsworth Fire Department in January of 2021. Bobby also served as the lead instructor for the Hancock County Fire Academy for many years. Bobby was recently honored as the recipient of the Joel Barnes Community Service Award. Rest easy brother. We will take it from here….
