The Boston Red Sox dropped their 2nd game to the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night April 8th at Fenway Park. The game-time temperature was 35 degrees, making it the 3rd coldest 1st pitch in Fenway Park's history. For reference the coldest was 34 degrees on April 17th, 2003 and April 15th, 2008.

Garrett Crochet threw a career-high 107 pitches in 5.2 innings. He took the loss and is now 1-1. He allowed 5 hits and 4 runs, although just 1 was earned, striking out 5 and walking 1.

Ceddanne Rafaela was 2-3 with an RBI single in the 7th inning.

Romy Gonzalez was 1-4 with a double.

Trevor Story went 2-4, singling in the 4th and 9th innings.

Kristian Campbell was 1-4, singling in the 9th inning. He is the 3rd Red Sox player ever to reach base in each of their first 11 career games at age 22 or younger. He joins George "Boomer" Scott who did it in 1966 and Ted Williams who did it in 1939.

Prior to the game the Red Sox placed Connor Wong on the Injured list with a broken finger, recalling Blake Sabol. They also recalled Josh Wincowski from Worcester, designating Robert Stock for assignment.

Boston is now 6-6 while Toronto is 7-5. The 2 teams will meet Wednesday night with Tanner Houck pitching for the Red Sox. The pregame starts at 5:45 with the 1st pitch at 6:45 on AM 1370 WDEA.
