The Trenton Acadians Senior Legion Baseball Team punched their ticket to the Senior Legion Tournament with a 11-1 win over the Post 8 Downeast Captains on Wednesday night, July 22nd in Bucksport.

Jackson Barry was dominant on the mound for the Acadians. He pitched 5.0 innings allowing just 3 hits and a run. He struck out 10 and walked just 1.

The Acadians banged out 14 hits, 6 of them for extra bases.

Logan Crowley, leading off was 2-4 with a triple.. Evan Haskell was 2-2 with a double and a pair of runs driven in. Dawson Curtis was 1-2 with a double and 2 runs batted in. Jackson Barry was 2-3 with a pair of singles. Hollis Grindal was 2-4 with a double and 2 runs batted in. Luke Horne was 2-3 with a double and a pair of runs batted in. Brayden Sekulich had a double. Trent Goss and Ryan Winchester each had a single.

The Acadians swiped 3 bases with Curtis, Horne and Goss each stealing a bag.

James Welch started on the mound for the Downeast Captains. He pitched 4.0 innings allowing 11 hits and 8 runs, striking out 4 and walking 3.

George Welch doubled and Colby Moholland and Miles Worcester each singled.

The Acadians will play in the 4-team State Double Elimination Tournament July 27-29 at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor.

The Downeast Captains will play the Dunkin Comrades at Mansfield Stadium on Thursday, July 23rd at 7 p.m. The winner will advance to the State Double Elimination Tournament with the loser ending their season.
