Red Sox Tie Franchise 15-Game Win Record Beating O’s 6-3 Before Falling 5-1in Nightcap to Snap Winning Streak [VIDEOS]

The Boston Red Sox tied their all-time franchise 15-game winning streak on Wednesday afternoon when they beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-3 before seeing the winning streak snapped falling 5-1 in the nightcap of the doubleheader.

Game 1 6-3 Win 

Jake Bennett earned his 5th straight win, improving to 6-3 as he pitched 5.2 innings allowing 9 hits and 3 runs, striking out 4.

Aroldis Chapman pitched the 9th inning and earned his 390th career save, tying Dennis Eckersly for 9th on the all-time save list. It was Chapman's 23rd save of the season.

Jarren Duran was 1-3, driving in 3 runs with a 2-run triple in the 1st inning and a sacrifice fly in the 3rd inning.

Caleb Durbin was 2-4, driving in 2 runs with a 2-run single in the 1st inning.

Ceddanne Rafaela was 2-4 with a solo homer. It was his 9th of the season.

Willson Contreras was 2-4.

Game 2  5-1 Loss to Orioles

Boston was held to 1 run or fewer for the 1st time since June 30th .

Eduardo Rodriguez started for the Red Sox in a bullpen-game. He allowed 3 hits and 4 runs striking out 1 and walking 2, recording just 2 outs in the 1st inning. He was optioned back to Worcester after the game.

Brayan Bellow came out of the bullpen and pitched 5.1 shutout innings allowing 4 hits. He struck out 5 and walked 1.

Masataka Yoshida was 1-4 driving in Boston's lone run with a 2-out single in the 4th inning.

Willson Contreras was 1-2 with a double.

Andruw Monasterio was 2-3.

Boston is now 52-49. They own the 3rd and final wild card spot, and are a game behind the 2nd Wild Card Cleveland Guardians.

Boston is off on Thursday, and will start a 3-game series at home against the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday, July 24th with the pregame starting at 6:10 on WDEA AM 1370.
