Post 8 Downeast Captains Rally with 2 Runs in Top of 7th to Beat Oxford Hills 2-1

The Post 8 Downeast Captains rallied to score 2 runs in the top of the 7th inning to beat the Oxford Hills Senior Legion Baseball Team on Tuesday night, July 21st, in the Senior Legion State Qualifier.

Trevor Shimabukuro earned the win for the Captains, pitching a complete game. He allowed just 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 7. He didn't walk a batter.

James Welch was 2-3 and drove in a run. Brody Robertson singled and drove in Welch in the 7th inning. Colby Moholland doubled and scored a run. Miles Worcester singled.

Tucker Hilden started for Oxford Hills. He pitched 5 innings and allowed just 2 hits. He struck out 10 and walked 1. Carter Davis took the loss pitching the final 2.0 innings and allowing 3 hits and 2 runs, walking 1 and striking out 5.

Cam Pulkkinen had a pair of singles. Jackson Stack singled and drove in a run. Logan Norris singled.

Oxford Hills will play Roderick-Crosby in an elimination game on Wednesday, July 22nd at 5:30 p.m.

The Captains will play the Acadians in the Winner's Bracket on Wednesday, July 22nd at 5:30 p.m.
