Hits were at a premium on Monday night, as the Boston Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles 2-0 in 12 innings, snapping their 2 game losing streak. The Red Sox managed only 6 hits while Baltimore was limited to just 5.

The Red Sox scored their 2 runs in the top of the 12th inning, thanks to sacrifice flies by Brock Holt and Jackie Bradley Jr.

The Red Sox pitching was excellent. Steven Wright threw 6.2 innings allowing just 4 hits, striking out 5 and walking 3.  5 Red Sox relievers combined for 5.1 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit. Heath Hembree pitched the 11th inning striking out 3 and picking up the win and Craig Kimbrel pitched the 12th earning his 21st save striking out the side after walking the lead-off batter.
