The GSM Riders beat the Trenton Acadians 7-2 on Wednesday night, 7-2 to win the winner-take-all Maine Senior American Legion Championship Game. Trenton had forced the extra game after defeating the Riders 3-1 earlier on Wednesday.

The Acadians had a 1-0 lead going into the bottom of the 5th inning. But the Riders scored 5 runs, to take a 5-1 lead.

Evan Haskell started on the mound for Acadians and went 4.1 innings before running into trouble. He allowed just 4 hits and 3 runs, striking out 3 and walking 4. Seth Young pitched the final 1.2 innings, allowing 3 hits and 4 runs, striking out and walking 2.

Landen Richard started the game for the Riders. He pitched 4.0 innings allowing 5 hits and 1 run, striking out 4 and walking 2. Ryan Clark picked up the win in relief. The sidearmer allowed 3 hits and 1 run, striking out and walking 1.

The Acadians outhit the Riders 8-7, but committed 3 errors in the game, while the Riders played error-free.

Luke Horne was 2-3. Ryan Winchester had a double. Logan Crowley, Evan Haskell, Dawson Curtis, Hollis Grindle and Jackson Barry each had a single for the Acadians.

Noah Corliss was 2-3 for the Riders. Parker Soule-Parent had a double and dorve in a pair of runs. Donovan Harvey had a pinch hit single and drove in 3 runs. Tyler Do, Dante Cuesta and Henry Marcotte each singled.

Trenton Acadians - GSM Riders Senior American Legion Championship Game

The Trenton Acadians forced a winner-take-all game with the GSM Senior Riders in the Senior American Legion Championship Game on Wednesday night, July 29th at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor.

In Game 1 played Wednesday afternoon the Acadians beat the Senior Riders 3-1.

In that game Jackson Barry pitched 5.2 innings for the Acadians, allowing just 6 hits and 1 run. He struck out 9 and walked 5. Seth Young pitched the final 1.1 innings, striking out 2 for the save.

Dawson Curtis had a pair of hits for the Acadians, driving in a run. Logan Crowley, Evan Haskell, Barry, and Ryan Winchester each singled.

Parker Bjorklund took the loss for the Senior Riders. He pitched 5.0 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 runs, striking out 8 and walking 1. Landen Richard pitched the final 2.0 innings, striking out 4 and walking 1.

Parker Soule-Parent was 3-4 to lead the Senior Riders at the plate. Tyler Do, Bjorklund and Richard each had a single.

The Senior Riders committed 3 errors while the Acadians played error-free baseball.
