The Trenton Acadians trailed the Dunkin Comrades 8-5 on Tuesday night, July 28th in an elimination game, but scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning and 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to eliminate the Comrades in the Maine Senior Legion Tournament.

In the 7th inning, Hollis Grindal walked to start the inning for the Acadians. Spencer Young ran for Grindal. Luke Horne singled, moving Young to 2nd Base. Ryan Winchester sacrificed, moving Young to 3rd and Horne to 2nd base. Young then scored on a passed ball, with Horne moving up to 3rd base. Coleman Welch then struck out. With Lucas Crowley at the plate, Horne scored the game-winner on another passed ball.

Dawson Curtis started on the mound for the Acadians. He went 3.0 innings allowing 2 hits and 6 runs, 2 of which were earned. He struck out and walked 3. Ryan Winchester earned the win, pitching the final 4.0 innings allowing 6 hits and 2 runs, 1 of which was earned. He struck out 5.

Curtis was 4-4 at the plate with a 2-run homer and a pair of doubles to drive in 3 runs. Horne was 2-4. Logan Crowley was 2-3 leading off. Hollis Grindal and Coleman Welch each singled.

Curtis had a stolen base.

For the Comrades Jude Geaghan-Chavez pitched 2.0 innings allowing 4 hits and 5 runs. He struck out 4 and walked 1. Oliver Mattei didn't retire a batter, walking 2. Gavin Glanville-True pitched the final 4.2 innings allowing 6 hits and 4 runs, 2 of which were earned. He struck out 9 and walked 1.

Aiden Ouellette had a pair of hits for the Comrades. Owen Glanville-True had a pair of singles. Gavin Glanville-True, Ian Boudreau, Kyle Johnson, Lucas Rutherford, and Matt Turcotte each singled.

The Acadians committed 6 errors in the game.

The Trenton Acadians will now play the GSM Riders for the Championship on Wednesday, July 29th at 5 p.m. at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor. The Acadians will need to win the 5 p.m. game and then the 7:30 p.m. game to win the Championship.
