This Saturday it's the 9th annual Winter Carnival in Ellsworth!

This year's event organizers are calling the Winter Carnival "the coolest celebration Downeast!" So bundle up and enjoy the day, we certainly have plenty of snow for a winter carnival!!

Here's a quick run down as to what's going on this Saturday:

Cardboard sled races on the Woodlawn grounds off the Surry Road.  Registration begins at 9AM. While there take a free snowmobile ride over the extensive trails courtesy of the Ellsworth Snowmobile Club!

There will be group skating at the Knowlton Park ice rink between noon and 2PM.  Don't have skates?  Don't worry!  Cadillac Mountain Sports will provide them free while supplies last, just call 667-7819 for more information.  While on the ice though watch out for the "human bowling," which is just like it sounds, humans on snow saucers plowing into bowling pins.

Then beginning at 2 the Clam Boot Classic hockey tournament gets underway!  Local teams have been registering for the tournament for the past few weeks and it should be pretty exciting to watch!

Everything winds down with the annual fireworks show at Ellsworth High School beginning at 6!
