Ellsworth 71 Central 60 [BOX SCORE]

The Ellsworth Eagles Boy's Basketball Team played their first home game on Wednesday, December 9th, and proved to be ungracious hosts, defeating Central 71-60 at Katsiaficas Gymnasium.

CenbtEllsworth jumped out to a 24-9 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter and led 43-21 at the end of the 1st Half. Central outscored Ellsworth 18-6 in the 3rd Quarter, to cut Ellsworth's lead to 10 as the 3rd Quarter ended with Ellsworth on top 49-39.

Ellsworth was led by Bryce Harmon with 17 points, while Bruce St. Peter had 16 points and Zac Harris and Nick Bagley each had 13 points. Bagley had 3 3-pointers, while Zac Harris had 2 3-pointers and Charlie Libbey had 1 3-pointer. Ellsworth was a stellar 23-25 from the free throw line!

Central was led by Andrew Prescott with 22 points, while Kyle Ham had 9 points and Caleb Shaw had 7 points. Prescott had 5 3-pointers. The Red Devils were 11-16 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 2-0 and play at Old Town on Wednesday, December 16th at 7 PM in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.

Central is now 1-1 and plays host to Houlton on Saturday December 12th at 2:30 PM.
