The Boston Red Sox snapped a 3-game losing streak beating the Texas Rangers 6-4 on Wednesday night, May 8th as they blasted 3 home runs.

Wilyer Abreu was 3-4 with a double and 2 home runs, his 8th and 9th of the season, knocking in 3 runs. He obviously enjoys hitting against the Rangers, because in 6 games against Texas this season he's 11-18 with 7 runs, 3 doubles, 4 homers and 9 runs batted in!

Alex Bregman was 3-4 with a double, a 2-run single and solo home run in the 4th inning. The homer was his 200th career home run. He has now reached base in 19 straight games. In his last 19 games he's batting .378, with 9 doubles, 7 home runs and 18 runs batted in.

Tanner Houck started on the mound for the Red Sox and went 4.2 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 runs, 2 of which were earned. He struck out and walked 2.

Justin Wilson came on in and pitched 1.1 innings allowing 1 hit and striking out 2. Brennan Bernadino picked up the win and is now 2-1. He pitched the 7th inning, retiring the side in order. Greg Weissert pitched the 8th inning, retiring the side in order. Aroldis Chapman earned his 5th save, allowing 1 hit and 1 run, striking out 1 and walking 1 in the 9th inning.

Boston is now 19-19 at .500. They are in 2nd place in the AL East, 2.5 games behind the 1st place New York Yankees.

Boston and Texas will play the final game of the 3-game series on Thursday afternoon. The pregame starts at 12:35 p.m. and 1st pitch at 1:35 on AM 1370 WDEA.
