
Trenton Junior Acadians beat CM Hurricanes 15-9
The Trenton Junior Acadian baseball team scored in every inning and beat the CM Hurricanes 15-9 on Wednesday, June 24th,
Trenton outhit the Hurricanes 17-9.
Brayden Pooler, leading off for the Acadians was a perfect 4-4 at the plate, including a triple, walked once and scored all 5 times he was at bat.
Coleman Welch was 3-5 with 3 runs knocked in. Noah Grindal was 2-3. Charlie Sullivan was 2-3 with a double and drove in a run. Trey Keene had a pair of hits and drove in 2 runs. Wyatt Young had a double. Gentry Cox, Tysen Mace and Garrett Umphrey each had a single.
The Acadians stole 6 bases. Pooler and Welch each has 2 stolen bases. Max Eckenfelder and Spencer Young each had swiped a bag.
Wyatt Young pitched 2.0 innings, and allowed 5 hits and 5 runs, 4 of which were earned. He struck out 5.Coleman Welch pitched 1.2 innings and allowed 2 hits, 2 runs and struck out 4 and walked 5. Spencer Young pitched 1.1 innings and allowed 1 hit and 2 runs, striking out 2 and walking 1. Brayden Pooler pitched the final 2 innings allowing 1 hit, and striking out 3.
Owen Laplant led the Hurricanes at the plate going 4-4, with a pair of doubles, scoring 4 times. Bennett Pottle was 2-2, driving in 3 runs. Oliver Hubbard had a double and drove in 2 runs. Benjamin Forkey, and Mitchell Ouellette each singled.
Maxwell Cornforth started on the mound for the Hurricanes and went 2.0 innings, allowing 6 hits and 6 runs, 3 earned. He struck out 2 and waked 1. Pottle pitched 2. 0 innings allowing 2 hits and 2 runs, all earned, walking 1. Forkey pitched an inning allowing 3 hits and 3 unearned runs, Laplant pitched the final 2.0 innings allowing 6 hits and 4 runs, 2 earned, striking out 3.
The Acadians are now 2-1. They will play Hammond Lumber Riverhawks Gray on Thursday, June 25th at 7:30 p.m.
The Hurricanes are 2-2. They will host Hammond Lumber Riverhawks White on Monday, June 29th at 6:30 p.m.
