
Trenton Acadian Junior Legion Team Sweeps Doubleheader from Roderick-Crosby Post 28
The Trenton Acadian Junior Legion Team won both games of a doubleheader against Roderick Crosby Post 28 on Monday, June 39th winning game 1 5-4 in 8 innings and then winning game 2, 8-4 in Farmington.
Game 1
Trailing 4-1, the Acadians scored 3 runs in the top of the 7th inning and then scored in the 8th inning for the come-from-behind win.
Trey Keene started on the mound for the Acadians. He pitched 5.1 innings allowing 3 hits and 4 runs, 2 of which were earned. He struck out and walked out 6. Coleman Welch picked up the win in relief, pitching the final 2.2 innings, allowing just 1 hit. He struck out 5 and walked 1.
Welch was 2-2 with a double and drove in 2 runs. Wyatt Young, Jagger Huffman and Max Eckenfelder each singled.
Roderick-Crosby used 4 pitchers on the night. Keegan O'Neil started on the mound and went 2.1 innings. He didn't allow a hit. He struck out 1 but walked 6. He allowed 1 unearned run. River Wilkie pitched 3.2 innings and allowed 2 hits and struck out 2 and walked 1. Eben Laliberte pitched the 7th inning and allowed 2 hits and 3 runs, striking out and walking 1. Braxton Boucher took the loss, pitching the 8th inning allowing 1 hit and 1 run, striking out 1 and walking 3.
Emmett Walker had a pair of singles for Roderick-Crosby. River Wilkie had a double and Keegan O'Neil had a single.
Game 2
In game 2 the Acadians outhit Roderick-Crosby 11-4.
The Acadians used 5 pitchers in the game. Gentry Cox started on the mound and went 4.1 innings allowing 2 hits and 4 runs. He struck out 2 and walked 5. Spencer Young pitched the rest of the 5th inning, striking out 2 and walking 1. Skyler Carter struck out 1 batter in the 6th inning and Coleman Welch struck out the other 2 batters. Wyatt Young closed out the game, pitching the 7th inning, striking out 2 and walking a batter.
Charlie Sullian was 2-4 with a triple and run batted in. Spencer Young had a single and drove in a pair of runs. Coleman Welch, Wyatt Young, Noah Grindal, Wyatt Jenkins, Garrett Umphrey, Max Eckenfelder, Tysen Mace and Gentry Cox each singled.
Jermain Whittier started for Roderick-Crosby and went 4.0 innings. He allowed 5 hits and 6 runs, striking out 2 and walking 4. Charlie Brann pitched the final 2 inning allowing 6 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 3 and walked 1.
Jermain Whittier had a pair of singles. Emmett Walker and Beau Vienneau each singled.
The Trenton Acadians are now 5-1. They will paly the Hammond Lumber Riverhawks White at Hampden Academy on Tuesday, June 30th at 7 p.m.
Roderick-Crosby is now 1-3. They will host Skowhegan on Tuesday, June 30th at 5 p.m.
