Red Sox Snap 4 Game Losing Streak Beat A’s 6-3 [VIDEO]
The Boston Red Sox used some 2 out magic early Thursday morning, April 4th, defeating the Oakland A's 6-3, snapping their 4 game losing streak.
Mookie Betts 2 run double off the 3rd base bag in the top of the 9th drove in the game winning rooms, and then Andrew Benintendi tripled driving in Betts for an insurance run. Blake Swihart was 3-4 with a solo homer.
One of the key plays happened in the bottom of the 8th inning. Ramon Laureano, hit a grounder to deep short. . With Xander Bogaerts taking a night off, Brock Holt made a jump throw and Mitch Moreland stretched for the catch from first base. That play drove in a run, but the play was overturned on review, setting the stage for the Red Sox' 3 run 9th inning.
Nathan Eovaldi started for the Red Sox and went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. Again the Red Sox starting pitching allowed another home run. He walked 4 and struck out 3. Colten Brewer pitched 1.2 innings of relief. Matt Barnes came in the 7th inning and got the last out and then pitched the 8th for the win. Ryan Brasier picked up his first career save.
