Red Sox Beat Rangers 9-4 as Wong Homers and Crawford Takes Perfect Game into 6th Inning [VIDEO]
The Boston Red Sox beat the Texas Rangers 9-4 on Tuesday night at Fenway Park as Connor Wong hit a 3-run homer and Kutter Crawford took a perfect game into the 6th inning.
Wong ended the night 2-4 with a double and 3-run homer. The homer in the 5th inning gave Boston a 6-0 lead at the time.
Crawford retired each of the 1st 16 batters he faced. He ended up pitching 5.1 innings allowing 3 hits and 4 runs, striking out 4 and walking 1. Kenley Jansen retired the final 4 batters, picking up his 22nd save of the season.
Rob Refsnyder, a day after driving in the game-winning run was 1-4 with a 2-run single in the 5th inning.
Rafael Devers was 2-4 with a double driving in a run in the 1st inning. He now has 15 hits in his last 18 games since July 23rd and is batting .370 in that time with 13 doubles, a triple, 2 homers and 10 runs batted in.
