MDI High School's Cell Phone Policy For The 2026-27 School Year

The 129th Maine State Legislature passed a law LD 965 that banned the use of cell phones by students from the morning bell to the dismissal bell at the end of the day. This includes during lunch, and times in between classes. Here is MDI High School's new Cell Phone Policy for the 2026-27 school year.

Students and parents should have received a email from Principal Matt Haney on Tuesday, August 11th explaining the policy. In his video, he communicated the policy and said he would be sending out weekly emails as school approaches!
