Boston only managed 6 hits in the game. They have gone back-to-back games without a home run for the 1st time since July 25-26 and have scored 3 or fewer runs in back-to-back games for the 1st time since June 30-July 1.

Eli White who was acquired at the trade deadline from the Giants for Marcelo Mayer, played right field and was 3-4, with a run batted in.

The Boston Red Sox had Erik Miller start, as they used the game as a bullpen-game. Brayan Bello pitched 4.0 innings, allowing 3 hits and a run, striking out 4.Since being recalled on July 12th as a long-reliever, Bellow has just allowed 3 run, 2 of which have been earned, in 22.2 innings.
