MDI Rolls Over WA 78-48 [PHOTOS]
The MDI Boy's Basketball Team sank 10 3-pointers en route to a 78-48 victory over Washington Academy on Thursday, December 15th in Bar Harbor.
MDI jumped out to a 29-15 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Russell Kropff sank his first 4 3-point attempts, for 12 points. Riley Swanson had 2-3 pointers and 8 points, Graham Good had 4 points, and Gus Reeves and Aaron Snurkowski, had 2 points each and Derek Collin was 1-2 from the free throw line for 1 point. For Washington AcademyJustin Villone had 9 points including a 3-pointer, Yontz Sutton had a 3 pointer, Kyle Case had 2 point and Justin Su was 1-2 from the free throw line for 1 point.
MDI outscored Washington Academy 14-12 in the 2nd Quarter to stretch their lead to 43-27 at the end of the 1st Half. Gus Reeves had 2 3-pointers for 6 points for MDI, Snurkowski had 3 points, Mac Shea had 2 points and Derek Collin had 2 points. Graham Good went 1-2 from the free throw line. For the Raiders Justin Su had 5 points including a 3-pointer, Sean Seavey had 4 points and Jim Lin had 2 points while Case went 1-2 from the free throw line.
MDI's lead was 23 at the end of the 3rd Quarter, as they were up 65-42. Andrew Phelps had 5 points including a 3-pointer for the Trojans. Reeves, Shea and Good had 4 points. Swanson drained his 3rd 3-pointer while Collin added 2 more points. For Washington Academy Sutton had 8 points, Villone drained 2 3-pointers for 6 points and Kyle Case went 1-2 from the free throw line.
In the final quarter, Shea scored 4 points, Colby Lee had 4 points, Drew Rich had 3 points and James McConomy had 2 points for MDI. For Washington Academy Sutton had 4 points and Case had 2 points.
MDI was led by Gus Reeves, and Russell Kropff with 12 points each. Riley Swanson had 11 points and Mac Shea had 10 points. The Trojans were 6-10 from the free throw line.
Washington Academy was led by Justin Villone and Yontz Sutton each of whol had 15 points. The Raiders were 11-18 from the free throw line.
MDI is now 2-0 and will play at Hermon on Saturday, December 17th at 7 PM.
Washington Academy is now 2-1 and will play host to Mattanawcook Academy on Wednesday December 21st at 7 PM.
