MDI High School Announces 3 New Coaches
MDI High School Athletic Director Bunky Dow announced the appointment of 3 new coaches for Varsity Baseball, 8-Man Football and Varsity Boy's Soccer.
Varsity Baseball - Matt Haney
Matt Haney-former player from GSA and coach at UMaine for three seasons. Matt also served as the head coach for the Trenton Acadians and recently coached the Varsity Baseball team at MDI for three season before becoming principal at the high school. Coach Haney brings many years of experiences running a program and is a very knowledgeable baseball player/coach.
Mark Shields - Football
Mark Shields will be returning as the varsity football coach after taking a year off and then returning as an assistant coach for the last three years. Coach Shields is very respected by his players and fellow coaches throughout the State and will be a welcome addition to the team.
Max Mason - Boy's Soccer
Max Mason was a former varsity soccer player during his school career and then came back as the JV Coach for one year. For for the last two years he has served as the varsity boy's assistant coach. Max is very knowledgeable of the game and has an excellent relationship with the returning players.
