Red Sox Beat Diamondbacks 11-1 With 16 Hits And No Strikeouts

The Boston Red Sox beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 11-1 on Monday, August 17th as every starting batter drove in a run, for the 1st time at Fenway since July 5, 1998 against the Chicago White Sox. Even more amazing, not one Red Sox batter struck out, for just the 4th time since 1994 and the 1st time since April 23, 2010 against the Orioles.

Boston's batters banged out 16 hits, 9 of them for extra bases.

Ceddanne Rafaela was 3-5 with 3 doubles, driving in a run.

Willson Contreras was 2-4 with a double and a solo homer in the 5th inning. The homer was his 25th, a season-high.

Nick Sogard was 2-5 with a pair of doubles and drove in a run.

Adley Rutschman was 2-5 with a double, to snap a 0-18 stretch.

Mickey Gaspar was 1-5 with a solo home run, his 1st of the season.

Wilyer Abreu was 2-4.

Alex Gamboa started for the Red Sox and pitched an inning. Brayan Bello came on and pitched 4.2 innings allowing 3 hits and striking out 3 and walking 1, picking up the win. His record is 5-6.

Wyatt Olds made his Red Sox debut pitching the 9th inning, striking out 2.
