MDI Girls 54 Old Town 34

The MDI Girl's improved to 10-1 on the season with a 54-34 victory over Old Town in Bar Harbor on Wednesday, January 13th, in a game that was originally scheduled for Tuesday, January 12th that was postponed a day because of the snowstorm.

MDI jumped out to a 18-5 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Kelsey Shaw had 5 points, Athena Laurendau had 5 points including a 3-pointer, and Keely McConomy had 4 points for the Trojans. Old Town had 2 points from McKenzie Folsom and Brooke Mishou.

In the 2nd Quarter, MDI increased their lead to 19, as it was 31-12 at the Half. Shaw had 8 points for MDI, Abbe Miller drained a 3-pointer, and Mariah Hamor and McConomy had 2 points for MDI. For Old Town, Cassidy Holmes had a 3-pointer, and Mikayla Richards and Mishou had 2 points each.

At the end of the 3rd Quarter, the Trojans were up 46-19. Shaw had 6 points, Miller had another 3-pointer and Julia Watras, Laurendeau and McConomy each had 2 points for MDI. For Old Town. Natalie St. Louis had a 3-pointer and Abby Sharp had 4 points.

In the 4th Quarter, MDI's Hannah Chamberlain scored her 1st Varsity points, a 3-pointer, and Alexis Clarito saw her first varsity minutes. For Old Town Jasmine Smith had 5 points including a 3-pointer and Holmes had a 3-pointer.

MDI was led by Kelsey Shaw with 17 points, while Athena Laurendau had 9 points and Keely McConomy had 8 points. MDI was 4-7 from the free throw line.

Old Town was led by Cassidy Holmes and Brooke Mishou who each had 6 points while Jasmine Smith had 5 points. The Old Town Coyotes were 4-8 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 10-1, and will play at Orono on Friday, January 15th at 7 PM in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 and WDEA Internet Radio.

Old Town, now 0-11, will host Mattanawcook Academy on Friday, January 15th at 7 PM.
