Lady Bucks End 2016 With 56-6 Win Over Lee

The Bucksport Girl's Basketball Team ended 2016 with a decisive 56-6 win over Lee Academy on Friday, December 30th at Ralph Jewett Gymnasium in Bucksport. The Bucksport team's tenacious defense didn't allow any points until the 3rd Quarter!

Bucksport led 21-0 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Brea Coombs had 6 points, Darian Jellison had 5 points, Cassy Coombs and Hannah Stevenson each had 4 points and Haley Craig had 2 points for Bucksport.

Bucksport increased their lead to 37-0 at the end of the 1st Half. Craig, Brea Coombs and Zoe Erickson each had 4 points for Bucksport, while Savanna Colson and Stevenson had 2 points each.

In the 3rd Quarter Lee finally got on the scoreboard when Ashton Dunbar and Grace Cowan scored for the Pandas. For Bucksport Brea Combs had 5 points and Cassy Coombs had 2 points. At the end of the 3rd Quarter it was 44-4 Bucksport.

In the 4th Quarter, Suzanne Jack had 4 points while Brea Coombs, Tine Hjelle, Sadie Lanpher and Savanna Colson all had 2 points for the Lady Bucks. Grace Cowan had 2 points for Lee.

Bucksport was led by Brea Coombs with 17 points while Haley Craig, Cassy Coombs, and Hannah Stevenson each had 6 points. Bucksport was 2-6 from the free throw line.

Bucksport is now 3-3 on the season and play at Stearns on Tuesday, January 3rd at 5:30 PM.

Lee Academy is 0-7 and play at Calais on Monday, January 2nd at 5:30 PM.
