The Boston Red Sox beat the New York Yankees 6-3 on Friday night, June 26th at Fenway Park for their 2nd win over the Yankees in-a-row.

Payton Tolle was excellent on the mound. He retired the 1st 16 batters he faced, and pitched 7.0 innings, allowing a hit, striking out 7 and walking 2. He improved is record to 4-5. In his 2 starts against the Yankees he has pitched 13.0 innings and struck out 18, with a 0.69 earned run average.

Willson Contreras was 2-3 with a RBI single in the 1st inning and a solo home run in the 3rd inning. He's now hit 17 homers in the season.

Caleb Durbin was 2-4 with a double, and scored 2 runs. He has hit safely in 18 of his last 25 games, batting .337 since May 28th.

Connor Wong was 1-2 with a RBI single in the 8th inning and a sacrifice fly in the 6th inning.

Tsung-Che Cheng, recalled from Worcester when Marcelo Mayer was placed on the injured list with forearm soreness, recorded his 1st career hit, a double in the 4th inning. He drove in a run on a fielder's choice in the 2nd inning.
