Ellsworth Softball Tops Belfast 5-0 in Prelim [PHOTOS]

The Ellsworth High School Softball Team beat Belfast 5-0 on Monday, June 7th in a Class B Prelim Game at Ellsworth High School.

Kayla Duhaime the Senior Catcher's bat was as hot as the weather as she went 3-3 with 2 triples and a home run in the 5th inning. She drove in 3 runs.

Her sister, Morgan Duhaime was 2-3 with a pair of singles

Tyler Hellum helped her own cause on the mound with a double in the 1st inning.

Annabelle Hackett had a single

On the mound Hellum struck out 9 including the final 2 Lions in the 7th inning. She scattered 3 hits and didn't walk a batter.

With the win, Ellsworth will host the winner of the prelim game between the #7th seeded MDI Trojans and the #10 seed John Bapst Crusaders. The Trojans and Crusaders will play Tuesday, June 8th at 4:30 p.m. The Quarterfinal from Ellsworth will be on either Wednesday or Thursday.
