Sonny Gray Leads AL In Wins After Shutting Out Chicago

There is no hotter team in baseball than the Boston Red Sox. They won their 7th straight game beating the Chicago White Sox 4-0 at Fenway Park on Wednesday, August 5th. Boston is now 25-3 since July3rd and 30-5 since June 25th.

On Wednesday night Wilyer Abreu was 2-3. He hit his 20th home run of the season, a solo shot in the 7th inning. He has homered in 3 straight games

Andruw Monasterio was 1-2, extending his career-long on-base streak to 17 games.

Jarren Duran was 2-3 with a double and stolen base.

Willson Contreras was 1-2 and came out of the game in the top of the 5th inning because of illness.

On the mound Sonny Gray was dominant. He pitched 6.0 inning allowing just 3 hits. He struck out 8 and walked 2. Earning his 14th win, he now leads the AL and is tied for 1st in the majors with 14 wins.

Tyson Guerrero, Garrett Whitlock and Jovani Moran each pitched an inning, combining to allow just a hit and striking out 6. Moran struck out the side in the 9th inning.

The Red Sox, now 62-51 and a season-high 11 games over .500 will play the White Sox in the final game of the 3-game series on Thursday night with the pregame starting at 6:10 p.m. on WDEA AM 1370.
