Ellsworth Girls Basketball Beats John Bapst 42-35 [PHOTOS]

The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team beat the John Bapst Crusaders 42-35 on Thursday night, January 17th at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth.

The Eagles jumped out to a 11-7 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Kylie Robidoux and Kayla Duhaime scored 4 points each for Ellsworth, Sara Shea 2 points and Trintiy Montigny was 1-2 from the free throw line. For John Bapst Emily Mock scored all of the Crusader's 7 points, with a 3 pointer and 2 2's.

In the 2nd Quarter, John Bapst outscored Ellsworth 12-8 to tie the game 19-19 at the end of the 1st half. Sydney Ellis had 2 3's for 6 points, Lacey Scanlon had a 3-pointer and Jamey Satterfield was 2-2 from the free throw line and Jamie McQuarrie was 1-2 from the free throw line. For Ellsworth Samantha Carter had a 3-pointer, Autumn Paul and Montigny had 2 points each and Sierra Andrews was 1-2 from the free throw line.

In the 3rd Quarter Ellsworth outscored John Bapst 9-7 to take a 28-26 lead. Montigny had 4 points, Robidoux 3 points and Duhaime 2 points. For John Bapst Mock had 5 points including her 2nd 3-pointer and Jayda Smith had 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter Carter had 4 points for Ellsworth and Robidoux and Shead 3 points each. Montigny and Duhaime each chipped in 2 points. For the Crusaders Tiana Cyr had 8 points and Adelaide Valley was 1-2 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth was led by Kylie Robidoux with 11 points and Trinity Montigny had 9 points while Kayla Duhaime had 8 points. The Eagles were 5-10 from the free throw linee.

John Bapst was led by Emily Mock with 12 points and Tiana Cyr had 8 points. The Crusaders were 4-14 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 9-3 on the season and will play at George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill on Tuesday night, January 22nd in a game that will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device

John Bapst is 4-7 and plays at Hermon on Wednesday, January 23rd at 5PM
