Update February 5th- The Ellsworth Police Department released this update on the Bank Robbery Suspect. He is a white Male, between 5'9 and 6'2 wearing black mask, sunglasses and hoodie, blue jeans, and work boots. He was seen prior to the robbery and has light brown hair, cut short, looks to be about 24-25 years old with no facial hair, no glasses, described as a nice looking young man. He sat in LL Bean parking lot for nearly 20 minutes in a dark colored pickup truck that is described as "oversized" or club/crew cab. The bag he was carrying is a Ryobi lunch bag that was well used, described as dirty, that is PROBABLY used every day for lunch on a construction crew, landscaper, etc. If anyone has any thoughts on this please let Dotty Small know via private message here, by phone at 667-2168, or our new anonymous tip line 669-6699, you do NOT have to give your name.

Ellsworth police are investigating a robbery today at the High Street branch of Key Bank. Police say the robbery happened just before 2 this afternoon. Now police say the man got into a pickup truck after leaving the bank.

Ellsworth Police Chief John DeLeo said in a press release today that a small statured man walked up to a teller in the bank and demanded cash. He wore a hat or hood, sunglasses, a mask covering his nose, and he had gloves on. The clothing was all grey or black and the man was carrying a green soft side cooler he used to carry out an undisclosed amount of cash.

No weapon was displayed in the robbery and no one was injured. Police said this afternoon that surveillance video shows the suspect getting into the driver's side of a dark-colored, full-sized extended cab pickup. The truck was parked in the middle of the LL Bean parking lot.
