“El Gato” Speaks With Popper [VIDEO]

The Harlem Globetrotters return to the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor on March 15th and Augusta Civic Center on March 16th. WDEA's Chris Popper spoke with "El Gato" Melendez and found out what he enjoys most about being a Globie, about their new opponents and more.

The first basketball game I ever remember attending was at the Springfield Hall of Fame. My father took me and a friend to the Globetrotter's game and I watched Meadowlark Lemon, Curly Neal and others. The Globetrotters put on a fantastic family friendly show!

Back before the days of ESPN and 24 hour cable, the Globetrotters would occasionally appear on ABC Wide World of Sports and I would always watch that particular episode. They even had their own Saturday morning cartoon show!
