The Acadian Major (11-12) Baseball Team staved off elimination on Friday, July 8th defeating Machias 6-4. The Acadians, now 2-1 in the double elimination tournament will play at Coastal on Monday July 11th.

AJ Lozano and Luke Horner combined for the win for the Acadians. Lozano threw 88 pitches and Horner finished the game throwing 10 pitches.

The Acadians jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning, as they batted around and had 5 singles. Wilder Noyes, Luke Horner, Quentin Pileggi, D'Angelo Reid and Jack Hodgdon all had base hits.

It was 5-0 after the top of the 3rd inning, as Alex Fernald scored for the Acadians. In the bottom of the 3rd Machias pushed across a run to make the score 5-1 after 3 innings.

In the 4th inning Pileggi scored for the Acadians and Machias answered scoring a run in the bottom of the 4th, to make the score 6-2.

Machias scored 2 more runs in the bottom of the 5th, to make the score 6-4.
