I wanted to take a ride to Thunder Hole in Acadia National Park, figuring that the area would be ice encased after two days of wind chills of about 20 below, and freezing spray. Thunder Hole didn't disappoint! Check out the photos!
The Seawall Road down by the Seawall Motel in Southwest Harbor was closed on Tuesday afternoon, November 27th as 12 to 16 foot waves, combined with a high tide and gale force winds threw rocks all over the road.
The National Park Service has closed the Park Loop Road in Acadia National Park to motor vehicles for the season, with the exception of the 2 mile section from the Sand Beach Entrance Station to Otter Cliff Road and the Jordan Pond area.
Once again this year, Acadia National Park's Visitor's Center will be moving to the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce's Visitor Center on the corner of Cottage and Main Street . The Hulls Cove Visitor's Center closes for the season on October 31st.
