On January 29, 2017 a group of Mainers gathered on Sand Beach in Acadia National Park to write in the sand the word "Resist". The picture went around the world. They gathered again Sunday morning, January 21st to write in Sand Beach again, this time the words "Still Resisting".
According to a post by the National Park Service the National Park Service is advising all visitors to ALL National Parks including Acadia National Park to use extreme caution if choosing to enter a National Park during the government shutdown.
Half Price Passes to Acadia National Park are still available at the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce's Visitor's Center at the corner of Cottage and Main Street but just until noon on Sunday, December 31st.
