Former MDI Trojan Ben Walls, now a senior at Husson University, pitched the Eagles to a 3-2 victory in their 1st game of the season, down in Florida on Sunday, March 5th. The Eagles split a doubleheader with Marymount, losing the second game 10-2.

Walls pitched a 7 inning complete game, allowing 4 hits, 2 runs, both earned and walked 1. He struck out 4.

Former Ellsworth Eagle, Conor Maguire, a sophomore, batted lead-off for Husson and was 1-3 with a walk and strike out. In the 2nd game Maguire again batted lead-off and played left field. He was 0-4 with a strikeout.

In the 2nd game, former MDI Trojan Steven Hanscom, now a junior, came in to pitch in relief in the 2nd inning with the Eagles trailing 7-2. He pitched 2 innings of shutout relief, allowing 3 hits and didn't walk a batter.

Husson, now 1-1 plays Rhode Island College on Monday, March 6th in Florida at 2:30 PM.
