Southwest Harbor Sets August 15th For Special Town Meeting
The Southwest Harbor Board of Selectmen have set the date of August 15th for a special town meeting to let the voters say yea or nay to a 180 day moratorium on allowing cruise ships to anchor in Southwest Harbor's waters.
The meeting, which will be held at 6 PM at the Southwest Harbor Fire Station, is a follow up to the July 18th Selectman's Meeting where they voted to say no to cruise ships and authorized the Harbor Master NOT to allow anchorage to any boat with a capacity of 50 passengers or more in Southwest Harbor waters, with the exception for boats that are currently using the Harbor.
