The Boston Red Sox will take on the New York Yankees in Spring Training action, Saturday afternoon, February 29th in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA starting at 1 p.m.

Yesterday, the Red Sox lost to the Minnesota Twins, 4-1, but J.D. Martinez was 2-2 with a triple in the 1st inning and a solo homer in the 4th inning. Kyle Hart started for Boston and went 2 scoreless innings and Josh Taylor made his 1st appearance pitching a scoreless 3rd inning, striking out 2 Twins.

Eduardo Rodriguez who is likely to be the Red Sox opening day pitcher with Chris Sale scheduled to start the season on the injury list will make his 1st start of the Spring. He was 19-6 with a 3.81 ERA in 2019. He started 34 games last year, tied for the best in baseball with 7 others. The Red Sox were 26-8 in his starts.

Along with Rodriguez, RHP  Ryan Brasier, RHP Heath Hembree, LHP Jeffrey Springs, LHP Yoan Aybar, LHP Brian Johnson and RHP Mike Shawaryn are all expected to pitch for Boston.

Tomorrow March 1st, the Red Sox will play Atlanta at 1:05 p.m. with the pregame starting at 1 p.m. on AM 1370 WDEA.
