MDI Football Beats Mt. Ararat 24-7 [STATS]

The MDI Trojans Football Team took the long drive to Topsham, beating the Mt. Ararat Eagles 24-7 on Friday night, September 4th.

The 1st Half was a defensive battle, with Mt. Ararat scoring with 6:01 left to play. With the extra point conversion, the Eagles led at the Half 7-0.

MDI was held to just 30 yards rushing in the 1st Half.

The 2nd Half began with the Trojans receiving the ball. MDI took over on their own 30 yard line, and proceeded to march down the field, for a touchdown by Asa Joyce, as he ran the ball in from 9 yards out. The drive took 8 minutes and 53 seconds. With the 2-point conversion good, MDI led 8-7.

MDI forced Mt. Ararat to punt on their next possession, and the Trojans took over on their own 39 yard line with 10.8 seconds left to play in the 3rd Quarter.

Again, the Trojans ate up the clock, going 61 yards to score. The drive took 5 minutes and 16 seconds. Asa Joyce scored his 2nd touchdown of the night. With the 2-point conversion good, MDI led 16-7.

On the kickoff, MDI recovered a Eagle fumble, talking over on the Mt. Ararat 42 yard line. MDI drove down the field, using 3 minutes and 36 seconds. Joyce ran the ball in from 1 yard out for his 3rd touchdown of the night. The 2-point conversion was good and the Trojans led 24-7.

The Trojans ended up with 224 yards rushing on the night.
