Red Sox-Braves Game Notes March 6

The 4-8-2 Boston Red Sox will take on the 4-8-1 Atlanta Braves on Friday afternoon, March 6th at 1 p.m. in a game broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA

The Red Sox will send Eduardo Rodriguez, Matt Banes (LHP), Colten Brewer (RHP) and RJ Alvarez (RHP) to the mound. This is Rodriguez's 2nd start of the Spring. On February 29th he struck out 6 allowing 2 hits over 3 scoreless innings against the New York Yankees.. Matt Barnes has pitched once, striking out 1 in a scoreless inning against Detroit on March 2nd. Both Brewer and Alvarez have made 3 relief appearances this Spring.

Yesterday, the Red Sox signed Collin McHugh to a 1 year contract. To make room ofr McHugh on the roster, they designated Hecotr Velazquez for assisngment. They also reassigned 5 playe4rs to the miner league camp: 1B Tommy Joseph; LHP's Daniel McGrath and Bobby Poyner and RHP's Bryan Mata and Denyi Reyes.

In yesterday's game against the Astros the Red Sox lost 5-0.. Jackie Bradley Jr. was 1-2 and is hitting .421 this Spring. Marcus Wladen threw a perfect 6th inning.

Tomorrow the Red Sox will play a pair of Split Squad games against the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies. The Red Sox-Blue Jays game will be on AM 1370 WDEA at 1 p.m.

Opening Day is 20 days away when the Red Sox will play at Toronto.
